And adding body armour, perhaps...

After I said:
<But my absolute favourite isn't even Avon - from Time Squad -
AVON: I'd already thought of that. Zen refuses to do it.
BLAKE: (v.o.) Then you'll have to.
Oh, the way Blake says those four words...oooh yum...>

Susan answered:
<I remember the words but not the way he says them. Time Squad next :-)>

Do watch it, and tell me what you think. It's a wonderful moment, actually,
for all sorts of reasons, especially if you believe (as I do) that Jenna did
too tell Blake about Avon wanting to leave him on Cygnus Alpha. Blake's
reaction to *that* news is to give Avon another opportunity to *get it
right* this time, by taking Jenna with him, and getting Avon to work the
teleport...in effect, forcing his trust on Avon, placing his life in Avon's
hands waaayyyy before Avon feels trustworthy (the expression on both Avon's
and Jenna's faces in the teleport - they're both thinking "this is not one
of his better ideas... ")

Then fate and Zen take the matter out of Blake's hands, and give Avon a
perfect opportunity to fudge the docking and get rid of both challengers for
the ship without the other two (Vila and Gan) having the slightest idea
(he's not a pilot, it's a difficult maneaouver, what do they expect?). And
Blake realises all of this as he says "then you’ll have to... " softly,
calmly, cool and calmly confident.

And when Avon, clearly rocked, mentions the risk, Blake comes back with
"you'd better get it right". No coaxing or reassuring - just a straight
message that he *knows* Avon can and will do it.

Please all ignore my posting labelled 'it's the way he says it...' -
I forwarded it to the wrong list. The remains of the dreaded
Bug-That's-Going-Around.....

Gosh that anon gets around a lot. I like the version:

Power corrupts. Absolute power is even more fun.

...which also has a Servalanic sort of feel.
