Absolutely! It borders on camp at times, when the headless goon is
lurching about, but that makes it fun. And it's so pleasant to finally
get out of the chalk pits. For once, we're in a pleasant place; neither
freezing cold nor hot enuf to fry yer eyeballs. No hairy barbarians
hurling rocks nor Vila-eating flytraps. Oh yes, and that drooly moment
where they crew lay Avon on the grass. And I even quite like Tarrant in
this ep, when he quite rightly makes the decision he knows Avon will
hate and blithely stands up to "the man" and does what is right for
humanity. If the crew were ever to switch allegience and follow Tarrant,
this would be the moment, for they display such solidarity during that
charming "picnic in the grassy park" scene.

Since I haven't seen "Blake" yet it was fascinating to look through the
frame captures. I don't worry about spoiling it for myself, because
nothing can compare with actually seeing an episode. However, I
think that this is a very wonderful place and I know that it must have
taken a lot of work and dedication to create it!
I nominate three episodes:
Aftermath--there is a lot of wonderful freeze frames of Avon here, and
there is one particular one of Servalan and Avon (not the kissing) that I
have always wished would be included on Sue Clerc's caption page. I wish
that I had the ability to capture video frames, because I've been itching
to make a caption for this particular part.
Rumours of Death--I've always liked this episode, and there are some
excellent freeze-frames of Avon here as well.
Ultraworld--I just think this one would be neat because of all the unusual
things that happen; seeing the Liberator trapped in those huge metal bars
is kind of different.

Yes, In general I did not like the 4th season much, I think that 'Rescue',
'Power' and 'startdrive' involved unacceptable luck. Getting off of terminal
without Orac's help. Happening to be rescued to someone who had done 90% of the
work on a teleport and finally getting a drive that gave them speed similar to
the Liberator.
BUT, There are some episodes that would just not have worked on the liberator,
and these are the good ones IMHO. Assassin, Headhunter, Warlord. None of them
could have worked with only one location.

As a lapsed B7 fan I am currently attempting to complete my collection. Can
any of you fans out there help me with episode numbers? I have a mixture of
the older and newer format episodes and 'The Beginning', 'Duel','Orac', and
'Aftermath' seem to be editited versions of most of the first series. Shall
I just buy the first 12 episodes again (in a lovely presentation box) to get
all of the screenplay? Ta.

It certainly worth buying the original episodes. Though edited versions are
fine to watch, there are episodes (and sequences in episodes) which are not
covered by those tapes. The Beginning, Duel and Orac cover the first
series. Whereas Aftermath covers the beginning of series 3 and an episode
from the middle of series 3.
I originally had the edited tapes and then bought the full episodes when
they were first released on video in the Uk some years back. I've not
looked at the edited tapes since.

I am currently studying a degree in creative writing at Derby
University. As part of my final year's work I am writing an article
on Blakes 7, the writers behind it and its place in the history of
science fiction.
I am already in contact with Chris Boucher and Rod Beacham,
but would love to talk to any of the other writers or
actors/actresses.
Can anybody help me in contacting any of the above? Also, it
would be great to hear from any fans as to your opinions as to why
the show was so popular, in particular what you think made it
different from other sci-fi of the time.

US B7 fans Carol, Teri, Tanya and Fiona are making a trip to
the UK in June to see Steven Pacey's play (no comment!). This
therefore seems to be an excellent opportunity to have another
drink at Pages Bar in London. The Tarrant crew are seeing the
play twice, on the evening of Thursday the 18th and the
matinee on Saturday the 20th (not as bad as it sounds, I have
heard of one B7 fan who has seen Guards! Guards! with Paul
seven times so far).
This means the Pages drink is going to be in the evening on
Saturday the 20th of June. Jenni has assured me she can
shepherd them from the matinee to Pages. I'll probably get
there around 5.30pm.
For those who have never been, Pages Bar is on Page Street,
London SW1P. Nearest tubes are Pimlico and Westminster and
railway stations Charing Cross, Victoria and Waterloo are not
far away. The No 88 bus, which you can pick up near
Piccadilly Circus, goes right past the door. Saturday nights is
its main sci fi night.
Say aye if you're coming!

Sounds a great idea. I presume there are no problems with any private
functions at Page's that night. I went down once on the off chance for a
drink and found that most people inside were dressed up as Klingons,
Romulans and Federation people. Got refused entry because it was a private
party.

No, you see the Liberator had an extremely complex copy protection program
based on Microsoft's current protection system. For example if you enter
the CD-key from MS-Money into the CD-Key blank for Office it won't work,
...no wait, I guess it does. Ohh that's right, if you enter the personal ID
number from Windows 95 it won't work with Office,... no wait, I guess it
does. If you log onto someone else's workstation with your user name and
attempt to access a password protected website, where they have the save
password option on, it realizes you are a different user and therefor
utilizes a separate profile,...umm, no I guess that's not right either.
Ahh, hell screw it! I doubt the Liberator ran on x86 code anyway.

security built into the MS-Liberator may be less than adequate for keeping
out anything more than the average dead lab rat. The above user obviously
does not understand the elaborate security procedures built into
MS-Liberator (I mean who would ever think of pressing the cancel button

Oh!! yes!! Some *very* drool worthy scenes indeed. The first half of
"Assassin" in one of my favorites. I also nominate "Assassin" !!
I'd also like to nominate "Voice from the Past" -- all those delicious scenes of
Avon in tight black pants, knee high boots, and black silk shirt <sigh> -- also
all those lovely, touchy, hot!! A/B scenes.

This is always a problem with Pages (esepcially with it being
the nearest Saturday to Midsummers Day). I've checked their
hotline and there is nothing on it. I've told them we are coming
and asked them to let me know if something happens on that
day. But don't worry, I do have a contingency plan (which
basically involves a pub round the corner from Pages where a
load of Babylon 5 fans drink) if things go pear shaped.

Tanya and Fiona actually live on the UK side of the pond. And I
can't say Teri's primary motivation is the play--she's a Blake fan

When Tarrant turned to fetch a tool Avon wanted, he heard a sharp
popping sound as the cover plate blew off the panel. The explosion
shoved Avon into him and they both went down in a disheveled heap.
"Expendable" by Vanessa Mullen:
With a fluid, long-armed grab, Avon snatched up the box of credits.
"Quick, Vila. Set me down again."
Vila's jaw dropped. "What?" But he was already responding to
Avon's urgency by squeezing round to his position behind the teleport
console.
"Rumours of Courage" by Julia Henry:
Well, I do, my lovely Dayna, a pity fuck really isn't what Avon
needs right now. Even if he could raise an ... interest after what
he's been through over the past few days.
"Witch Hunt" by Ebony:
There is still a chance that I may cheat death. The timber may
not burn, for only a few have thrown those rare dry sticks.
"Love's Illusions" by Willa Shakespeare:
"Why? I already know your answer." Jenna shook her head.
"I can't force you to want me. Any more than Vila could make me
want him. But regardless of personal feelings, you have to take
physical needs into account," she went on more calmly. "As the
only experienced spacer on Liberator, I am advising her captain
that the crew desperately requires a relief stop."
"Relief stop?" Blake asked, puzzled. "No Federation rest and
recreation centre would take us in."
"More likely, they wouldn't let us out," Avon added. "Are you
sure this enforced chastity hasn't given you brain-warp?" he asked Jenna.
"Salvage" by Misha:
"What is it, Zen?"
*A single Federation pursuit ship entered maximum sensor
range one-point-one-seven minutes ago.*
Avon slapped Orac's key into its slot and snarled as the
machine hummed into life.
"Orac, why didn't you inform me of that pursuit ship?"

profiles. That ship did not file a mission profile and has not checked
in with Flight Control Authorization Centers at any point.*
"Domo" by Gemini: "I'd like to inspect the slaves before the auction."

to get indoors out of the heat.
"Of course." Terrin gestured casually towards the low buildings
where the merchandise was housed. His breath smelt faintly of
some sort of narcotic. Did the pirates deal in drugs as well as slaves?
"Path of Thorns" by Mitzi Tick and Felicia Adam:
Tarrant had almost died on Gauda Prime.
Then he truly had died during interrogation.
Each time he'd succumbed to the gentle embrace of death, the Federation
medical personnel--using their most advanced technology--had revived him.

A very popular university subject. I have had 2 such requests in the the
last couple of years from people wanting help with Blakes 7 info.
Is Blakes 7 listed as one of their options of subject matter? or have
they just plucked the subject out if thin air? Surely if the Uni
Students were *real* fans of the programme the questions would have been
more specific and not so generalised? Are we, the fans, being used as
cheap/cheat researchers, or is my cynicism being caused by PMT?

If I remember this properly BayBan is Colin(?) Baker with his curly
locks. If that's correct then I nominate him for the best performance
in a supporting role, best depiction of a psychopath, best delivery of
insane lines and most gleeful reveling in evil. Oh and most successful
use of black leather and Curly Golden Locks(TM) in a television villian.
Yet more reasons for "The City" being sampled for the video library.
This really was his finest hour.
Of course I wont mind if you omit the the picture of the new world at
the end. It would get my vote for "least convincing depiction of an
alien planet in a television series".
