Know I'm going to regret this, but I've had a few lines going through my
head to the tune of "Belle", from Beauty and the Beast, so (despite the
nightmare element of Avon doing solos and not knowing why I feel like
torturing people this way) -

Avon: Little base
It's a quiet planet
Every day like the one before
Little base full of little people
Waking up to say
"Look out!"
"Look out!"
"Look out!"
"Look out!"
"Look out!"
"Duck!"

Avon: There goes the android with his head like always
The same old wife and friends to slay
Every morning just the same
Since the morning that we came
To this poor, provincial base

Vila [running for his life]: Out of the way!

Homiks/Seska [seeing Avon] : Look, there he goes
The guy is strange, no question
A computer hacker, can't you tell?

Space Rats: Never plays or has a ball

Ultra: Thinks he's smarter than them all

Og: No denying he's a funny one, Avon

Various people ducking explosions: Hey, duck!

"Out of the way!"

"How's your rebellion?"

"Hey, duck!"

"Out of the way!"

"We need some strife!"

Guy from another movie: I need six heads!

Piri: That's too expensive!

Avon: There must be more than this resistance life!

Shrinker: Look, there he goes, the guy is so peculiar!
I wonder if he's feeling well?

Meegat: With a dreamy far off look

Semi-literate, hairy space-caveman: And his nose stuck in a book!

Entire B7 Lyst: What a puzzle to the rest of us, Avon!

Avon [explaining how the latest plan _will_ work to the Scorpio crew (if
the others do their part)]: Oh, isn't it disarming?
It's the simplest plan we've had, you'll see
Here's where they'll think we're charming
But they won't discover it's a con
Till Sector Three!

[Enter Federation type who has displeased Servalan and is promptly shot
by her]
Travis: You're the greatest schemer alive, Commander! No walk on
character with no lines stands a chance against you! [Throws himself in
her lap] And no regular character with dialogue either, for that matter!

Servalan [throwing him off without really noticing he was there]: That's
right, Travis, and I've got my sights set on that one!

Travis: Blake's best friend?

Servalan: What show have you been watching?

Right from the moment when I met him, saw him
I said "He's gorgeous!" and I vowed
Here in space there's only he
Who is half well dressed as me
So, I'm making plans to trap and tempt Avon

Significant portion of B7 fan base [you know who you are]: Look, there he
goes!
Isn't he dreamy!
Monsieur Avon!
Oh, he's so cute!
Be still my heart!
I'm hardly breathing!
He's such a tall, dark, strong, and handsome brute!

Background people [explosions, laser fire continue]:
"Look out!"

"Uh-oh!"

Guy from Gambit: Mas oui!

Trekkie #1: You call this sci-fi?

Trekkie #2: Special effects?

Lurker: Some cheese

Whovian: Cheap sets

Caveman: I'll get the knife

Servalan [chasing after Avon, who hasn't noticed]: Please, let me
through!

Fans of other fandoms not worth naming: These plots, these scripts,
they're stale, they smell!

B7 fans [pulling out some of Dayna's explosives]: You're quite mistaken!

Other fans [pulling out cheap toys from their shows]: Oh, you think so?

Everyone: Look out, duck! [conflict begins in earnest]

Servalan: Just watch, Avon and I will have a life!

Anyone who can sing while fighting: Look there he goes, a guy who's
strange but special!
A most well written character!

Non B7 fans: It's a pity and a sin
He doesn't quite fit in

B7 fans: But he's really a well written guy
A brainy but well written guy
He's really a well written guy... Avon!

Ellynne (who is hoping the rest of the musical version doesn't pop up in
her brain)

I have no idea how the tune goes, Ellyne, but I have no objections to being
tortured in this fashion!

I'm wondering why no one in the series ever seems to teleport
unaccompanied objects (although it's OK to carry things--
Vila seems to get stuck with this, for Orac as well as his
picnic cooler). In (I think) Cygnus Alpha, when Blake and
Avon mention the Aquitar Project they say that it didn't work
very well, and never for living things--which sounds to me
like you had at least a chance of your package getting delivered.

ah, now we're getting into complicated areas.

I have a theory (which I will try and be brief about in order to spare the RSI).

The original Federation teleport operated on a totally different principle to
that of Liberator. Although many parts of the mechanism were related (such as
the need to record distance and direction of the destination), the power source
was different.

Drawing on 'Power' (much though I hate to refer to that episode <grin>), we have
to conclude that a dynamon crystal or similar is essentail to the teleport. Now
dynamon was used by the Seska to amplify their mental powers, telekinesis and
the like. Thus it is logical that it formed a similar role in the teleport and
amplified the (extremely small) mental powers of the person being teleported.

This explains the need for a living person to be involved in the teleport
process and also why the Federation failed to teleport a living person (they
weren't using mental powers as a trigger to the process, but researching in a
different area).

This theory also adds an interesting slant to the scene in 'Sarcophagus' when
Cally helps telport teh others back - she would have had the strongest mental
powers of any of them.

I *also* have been in touch with Sheila, and when I mentioned
Jabberwocky, she figuratively groaned and said don't hold your breath.
There's at least three other stories (none B7) which are in front of
it in line. And since one of them will probably be a novella, don't
expect anything soon.

But, yeah, I'd agree that encouragement is good - so long as it
doesn't turn into pressure. (-8

Vila: What was all that about? Everything is running smoothly.
Blake: That was because everything was balanced before the computers
went off line. Try and adjust something, and you unbalance
something else. Try and adjust that, you unbalance two more
and before you know what's happened, the ship is out of control.

Ooh, Ellynne, much applause!

I have added "Killer" to my frame capture library. 164 images, featuring a
great deal of brown vinyl.
